About Me:
Good day,
How are you? I hope you’re feeling well. It’s been months since I was able to send you an email. I’m glad that I’m sending my statement about you.Thank you for your unconditional support for us as your one of the PUNLA SCHOLAR.I’m so greatful to be part of this. Not just the scholar I get but also to God that I’m giving to him my fully faith and trust to him what ever happens to me.
I’m currently a 4th-year college student at San Jose Community College, my last journey in my entire college life. I can’t expect that this is the last academic year that I taking up,lately I have been suffer stress and anxiety due to my school works because right now we are here at Malilipot Central School which my place is under 6 kilometer permanent danger zone so our Mayor of our City force a immediately evacuation center so we are staying here in 2 months, last June 9,2022 PHILVOCS or Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology announced that in the past 24-hour period, the Mayon Volcano Network recorded six (6) dome-collapse Pyroclastic Density Currents (PDC) that lasted three (3) to six (6) minutes and one hundred ninety-nine (199) rockfall events based on seismic and visual observations. The PDC and rockfall events emplaced lava debris on the southern gullies within two kilometers of the summit crater. Thin, light brown ash from the rockfalls and continuous moderate degassing from the summit crater produced steam-laden plumes that were bent and drifted to the general south. Fair crater glows, or banaag,” and incandescent rockfall shed from new fluidal lava at the summit of Mayon Volcano were also observed last night. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions were last measured at an average of 332 metric tons per day on June 7, 2023. Short-term observations from EDM and electronic tiltmeter monitoring show the upper slopes to have been inflating since February 2023. Longer-term ground deformation parameters based on EDM, precise leveling, continuous GPS, and electronic tilt monitoring indicate that Mayon is still inflated, especially in the northwest and southeast.
As of now, Alert Level 3 is maintained over Mayon Volcano, which means that it is currently in a relatively high level of unrest and that a hazardous eruption within weeks or even days could still be possible. It is therefore recommended that the 6-kilometer-radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) remain evacuated due to the danger of PDCs, lava flows, rockfalls, and other volcanic hazards. Increased vigilance against PDCs, lahars, and sediment-laden streamflows along channels draining the edifice is also advised. As evacuees, my status here is that I’m not comfortable, and we are staying in a room in new surroundings away from home.
By September, I will start my FS1, or field study, which allows students to gain experience in integrating the theoretical perspectives learned in the classroom with experiences gained in the field to gain insights into the workings of an organization and become more conscious of the relationship between social roles, institutional dynamics, and larger cultural systems. My time observing was not only educational for me on how to become the teacher I desire to be, but also on how to better myself as a student and improve my own learning. I observed some wonderful learning tools that I have since implemented into my own education to develop my own learning. One way my time spent during my fieldwork has improved my own learning is how I manage the way I learn. During my fieldwork, I want to experience some ways that the teacher adjusted her lessons to accommodate different learning styles for her students and enhance their learning.
May God bless me during my Observation.
